who we are
Think of two avid travellers with a camera and a big love for filming. We wanted to spare our friends from listening to all our travel stories at endless photo slideshows. That’s why we came up with a way to speed things up a bit.
The idea of showing the highlights of our hometown Munich in 60 seconds had been in Arne’s head for years. Together with Tim, he finally made it happen and in the summer of 2016 60seconds.travel was born. The project grew so
quickly that we’ve soon been able to travel all around the globe to shoot 60 seconds videos.
We love what we do and want to share our passion for other countries, cultures and nature as we really believe that there’s nothing more rewarding than travelling.
what this is
We travel the world. In 60 seconds. It’s that simple. 60seconds.travel is a book index turned into a video: We shoot and publish high quality videos about countries, cities and regions. In just 60 seconds, we introduce our audience to the highlights of a destination. Our content reaches millions of viewers on Facebook and Youtube.
The technique is unique: our editing style is extremely fast – but we do not leave anything out. What also makes our videos special? Arne or Tim are always your video tour guides and experience everything first hand that they recommend. Being credible and authentic – that’s what it’s all about.
Our videos are successful because they're extremely shareable, quick and fun to watch. We engage the locals and expats of a region who then share our content with their international friends, creating a very wide organic reach from the start.
how we shoot
When we’re shooting, we’re always on the go. We have to be quick and glossy at the same time. A project like 60seconds.travel would not be possible without the newest camera technology.
Our main camera is the Sony a7S II, an extremely versatile and small camera that can literally see in the dark because of its magnificent high ISO performance. The built in stabilizer allows us to shoot quickly without a tripod. It also enables us to save a lot on lenses. For our purposes we do not need to buy stabilized solutions anymore and can work with full frame Tamron lenses.
On the subject of stabilization, we found a way to shoot breathtaking scenes on the go with the Zhiyun Crane. Filmmakers know about the quality boost that a proper gimbal adds to the result but the problem has always been portability. The Zhiyun Crane solves that issue by not being much bigger than a selfie stick.
When it comes to transportation we really like the bags from Peak Design. Their quick access systems and durability are simply awesome. Their cool design also makes them easy on the eye.
Portability is key and that also comes into play with aerial shots. Our Mavic Pro is a drone that literally fits into your pocket. To get cinematic results we work with ND filters and visors that can be attached to the gimbal.

South African Tourism
We always wanted to go to South Africa. And luckily our concept convinced the tourist board and their German agency KPRN. They asked us to shoot 12 informative films for the German market. The short videos answer tourists most frequently asked questions e.g. “Is South Africa expensive?” or “Which scenic routes should I take?”. The clips aren’t always just 60 seconds long, but are definitely made in the authentic 60seconds.travel style.
The world famous university of Munich asked us to introduce the campus to their freshmen. So we did. The video fulfills two needs: give new students a taste of life on campus and advertise the university in social media platforms. The video was a huge success especially on Facebook.
